Symphony No. 2 'Fraternal'
Orchestra
“Reverential, satisfyingly peaceful... pleasant and accessible...a mix of joviality and pensiveness...”
The composer (left) with his brother, Gary.
Commissioned by the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, Symphony No.2 ‘Fraternal’ opens with an inquisitive horn call answered with fun and festivity. The second movement is an exhilarating adventure down the fairway, with an ominous hunt for a lost ball and a triumphant arrival at the green! Gary's Song is an elegy. The finale is a set of variations on a jolly tune. Symphony No. 2 ‘Fraternal’ is dedicated to my brother, who had the gift of eliciting uncontrollable laughter.
