Dick is a dedicated and talented composer, with a wide-ranging knowledge of the basics of his craft, coupled with a gift for melody and color, along with a fine practical sense of what will work well in performance. I have conducted several of Dick Maltz's compositions. They were attractive to the audience and I recommend them heartily to any orchestra conductor.

Fables is a wonderfully crafted work. The LVCO musicians, the school children and their teachers have all been unanimously excited by the work. In all cases, it was extremely well received.
