"This stunningly beautiful, large-scale work for percussion ensemble is sophisticated, harmonically and rhythmically complex, and highly expressive. The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the composer of such a major work in our genre. In perpetuum... met with enthusiastic audience response and is well-deserving of more performances.
B. Michael Williams,
Winthrop University Percussion Ensemble
In Perpetuum... contains densely-scored blocks of sound alternating with silence and triadic harmony, and slowly-evolving passages of expressive melody, in fragmented form. The piece requires 12 percussionists who at times, play on six marimbas (two per instrument).
