Gary's Song is both a tribute to, and an elegy for a brother lost too soon.  Among its prominent themes are the opening five-note motive inspired by his zest for life, and the two-note falling 'sigh' that follows.

Gary's Song is written for strings, and is the second piece of music (Great Prospects Overture, 2008) written by the composer, for Music Director Patrick O'Connor and the Prospect High School Orchestra.
